Systems engineering to transform FAA’s aviation system

McLean, VA – Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) has been awarded one of only three large business spots on the 10-year Systems Engineering Technical Innovative Solutions (SETIS) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, which also included eight small business spots. With a $2.26 billion shared ceiling, SETIS will provide a broad range of research, service analysis, strategic planning, systems engineering (SE), technical, financial, and programmatic support services, and other aviation-related support services. These services will enable the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to accomplish its National Airspace System (NAS) mission, and other aviation-related mission objectives.

By providing the safest, most efficient national airspace system in the world, the FAA seeks to continuously make air travel safer and embrace innovation through the integration of new entrants and new technologies.

“The FAA has significant challenges and opportunities ahead as it seeks to modernize and evolve the safest, most complex, and busiest air transportation system in the world,” said Trevor McKnight, who brings over 20 years of aviation experience and will serve as Booz Allen’s SETIS program manager. “Building on the accomplishments of the FAA’s NextGen infrastructure program, we are honored to continue partnering with the FAA and expand on our highly successful delivery under the SE2020 contract.”

Booz Allen will continue to serve as a mission-aligned partner to FAA, a relationship that has endured for over 35 years. The firm will deliver services that span all aspects of FAA’s air traffic and safety missions. Booz Allen brings the capabilities needed to achieve the FAA’s vision of a more connected, information-driven enterprise able to efficiently cope with an increasingly crowded airspace.

Rich Crowe, president of Booz Allen’s Civil Sector, stated, “SETIS is an ideal example of Booz Allen’s focus on client missions at the intersection of emerging technology integration, and we couldn’t be prouder of continuing our journey evolving the NAS in support of the FAA.”
